2020 Tesla Roadster will be even faster with the SpaceX Package

Elon Musk announced that the new Tesla Roadster will be even faster than the recently presented prototype with a package called “SpaceX”.

During Tesla’s annual stakeholder meeting, Elon Musk announced that production versions of the new models – Tesla Semi and Tesla Roadster – would be significantly improved than the first prototypes shown last year.

“What we unveiled with the Roadster was the base model performance. It’s going to have a SpaceX options package. It’s crazy.” – said Elon Musk.

Tesla Motors CEO also added that he wanted the new Roadster to show that “electric vehicle can outperform a gasoline car in every way”. This means that your car will have a much more efficient battery pack, allowing you to drive a record number of miles per charge, and much more powerful engines that generate even more power. It is unofficially said to introduce a 200 kWh battery with a range of more than 930 miles.

Is the new SpaceX package Tesla’s answer to the new electric super cars including Rimac C_Two? In March, the Croatian manufacturer presented its second electric car, which has a battery of 120 kWh and engines with a total power of 1.914 horsepower, which allows to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 1.85 s and reach the maximum speed of 256 mph. The maximum range per charge is 403 miles. The company’s representatives publicly announced that they were working to create a car faster than Tesla.

Let us remind you that the first prototype of the Tesla Roadster allows you to achieve the first 60 mph in 1.9 seconds and to speed up to a maximum of “over 250 mph”. Its power has never been officially announced, but only mentioned that the maximum torque on the wheels is 10000 Nm (yes, it’s not a mistake), and the time for 1/4 mile is 8.8 s. In addition, Elon Musk announced that the range on a single charge is 620 miles.
