Sick regulations to co-finance new cars have created graveyards of classic cars in the UK.
Since 2009, the British can get £2000 discounts on their new car by returning their old car. As a result, thousands of cars have ended up in dumping, and often these cars are worth much more than the subsidies.
A group of urban-explorers with cameras travelled to the old Bedford airport to look after the old flight control tower. However, they quickly realized that the real treasure is the car park created from the old airport plate.
On the videos we see many real gems. There are several dozen Porsche 924/944, Volkswagen Beetle, Nissan 300ZX, Peugeot 205 GTI and even Ford Escort RS. In addition, we can see many cars over 50 years of age that are not common every day.
What’s interesting, the car park also features almost new cars, whose return for the amount of 2000 pounds seems irrational. There are many company cars, vans and buses, as well as premium cars – Mercedes E-Class, Audi A5, Audi A8 or even new Volvo S90.
