Toyota Europe has officially announced that the new generation of Toyota Supra will appear at the Goodwood Festival of Speed 2018 on July 12th.
The return of Toyota Supra is for many the biggest event in the automotive world, just like the return of Wankel’s engines to Mazda and the awaited premiere of the RX-9. The process of creating the car has been going on for many years, and to this day we have only been able to see spy photos and the first prototype in the racing version.
The wait is probably over. Toyota Europe has published a tweet announcing the arrival of the new Toyota Supra at this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed, which is due to start on July 12th. With the information a new photo of the camouflaged prototype and hashtag #A90 has been placed.

It is not certain whether we will see a production car without camouflage, but we will certainly be able to see the car in its production form and listen to the sound of the new Toyota sports car. Under the hood, there will be a turbocharged 3-litre BMW R6 engine with 335 horsepower (250 kilowatts) and 369 pound-feet (500 Newton-meters) of torque, which will allow for a sprint from 0 to 60 mph (96 km/h) in 4.5 seconds. The power will be transmitted to the rear axle, and rumours have it that the car is only 3,300 pounds (1,497 kilograms). In the future, a stronger variant with the GRMN badge is expected to be introduced.
Recently there have been rumours about the price of the US-spec of the new Supra. The car can be bought from $63,500.
