The first SUV are currently under development. Will it turn into a hot-hatch in the future?
Ferrari’s offer has changed significantly in recent years. The brand, which used to be associated only with unique sports cars for two people, at some point began to offer an combish model, and is now preparing to introduce its first SUV following the footsteps of Porsche, Lamborghini, and Maserati.
This may mean that the Italian manufacturer will decide to enter other segments as well and fight, among others, with Porsche and Aston Martin for customers of sports saloons, and later with Audi and Mercedes for people looking for a quick hatchback.
While the vision itself seems totally absurd, with the world in which we live and with the European Union’s requirements on emissions in mind, it may be a rescue for Ferrari to continue offering real sports cars. After all, we all remember the small 2010 Aston Martin Cygnet based Toyota iQ, which helped to reduce the overall emissions of British models.
The vision of such a model was recently introduced by the artist Taekang Lee. He created a unique concept of a sports hatchback with the Ferrari logo. At the front, you can see many references to the 812 Superfast, while the rear belt is reminiscent of the 488 GTB and 599 models, the rims of which come from the no longer available Ferrari 458 Italia.
If we were to guess what’s under the mask, it would probably be the supercharged V6, which will soon make its debut in the refreshed Ferrari 488. This would allow to fight with dignity for the customers of the Mercedes-AMG A45 and the new Audi RS3.
