A huge number of stars lent their voices to the film, and one of them was Jeremy Clarkson himself, and yet hardly anyone knows about it.
The first film in the Cars animation series is considered to be one of the best movies made by Pixar. They managed to create a brilliant character Lightning McQueen and a unique story in which everyone will find something for themselves – from the youngest to the oldest.
Many film stars have lent their voices in the film. The main character is played by Owen Wilson (comedy actor from the group “Frat Pack”), Hudson Hornet plays Paul Newman (Butch Cassidy and Sundance Kid, Cool Hand Luke), and the voice of Luigi was given by Tony Shalhoub (Monk).
Apart from them, we can also hear people known from the automotive industry. The film features real NASCAR drivers (including Dale Earnhardt Jr., Darrell Waltrip, Mario Andretti), Humpy Wheeler – former president of the Charlotte Motor Speedway circuit and the most famous NASCAR promoter, Bob Costas – sports commentator, Michael Schumacher – legendary F1 driver, and Jeremy Clarkson – famous automotive journalist and presenter of Top Gear and The Grand Tour.
If you can’t remember Jeremy Clarkson’s role despite watching the film with the original audio, it’s normal. A British journalist played the role of Harva, Lightning McQueen’ agent, but his voice could only be heard by people in the UK. Jeremy Piven, an actor known from the Entourage series, lends his voice in an international version.
Below the scenes with Clarkson, as well as a backstage recording with him.
