The mystery of the unknown Mustang has been solved.
A few days ago we reported that automotive spies caught a mysterious Ford Mustang driving through the streets of Ford’s test centre. Today, the American manufacturer officially introduced this model and it is a special package for the version with 2.3 EcoBoost engine.
The car features a revised radiator grille with a logo on the side, 19-inch rims with a special design, bonnet straps in a special pattern and black mirrors and rear spoiler. There are four GT-like exhaust ends at the rear and the exhaust system itself has been modified for better tone.
Fortunately, this is not just about visual changes. The “High Performance Package” introduces some significant changes under the hood to increase the power output to 330 hp. A new engine calibration, larger twin-scroll turbo compressor and a new cooling system have been introduced.
Accurate performance data have not been disclosed. Ford only indicated that the time from 0 to 60 mph should be about 4.5 seconds, which is almost 1 second better than the basic 290 hp version. This sounds unbelievable and we are looking forward to the first tests of this version.
The special version will be available in the showrooms this summer.
